TOME OF HOLDING: The hardwood dice box and rolling tray.

Created by Alexander Ingram

Intricate designs appear carved into the cover of this old tome. What mysteries might lie inside?

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Funded, new art, the last stretch goals, and the surveys
over 5 years ago – Wed, Nov 07, 2018 at 11:58:43 PM

I'd like to apologize for my somewhat radio silence over the past day.  It's been a busy one between the day job and setting things up for the convention that starts tomorrow.

Funded!

Thanks to all of you that backed the project.  I must admit I didn't think it would go as high as it did. I'm going to do my best to get them all knocked out as fast as I can.

Spellbook of Nature

Yawning Annihilation

Last Stretch Goals

For the 60k "TBD" on it's actually going to be some product enhancements.

The first being a ribbon for each tome.  Since I've been using these I have come to really like this to help get pens and pencils out but I could also see people wanting it for the card spots too.  I'll be trying to match the flocking color for the ribbons.

The second upgrade will be in the form of a cutter to put fine lines along the rolling tray inner pages.  This will make it look more book-like and make it look as if there are actually pages.  I've got to get a custom tool made, but it should look pretty neat.

The 62500 stretch goal will be a classic looking Ray Gun with a border of rocket ships, I think.  That's a bit TBD, but that's what I'm thinking anyway.

As art gets worked on and roughed up I'll post updates.

Surveys

These will get sent out in two or three weeks, I'm guessing.  So you've all got plenty of time to ponder what you'd like your tome to be.  At the very least all of the artwork will be roughed out before the surveys go out.  None of the art will change drastically from what you've seen so far.  It may get tweaked a bit, but that will probably only be for refinement and manufacturability.

Again thank you, everyone, and if you're in the area, come to see these in person at Gamehole Con starting tomorrow!

Nature, Annihilation, Birdseye and Gamehole!
over 5 years ago – Mon, Nov 05, 2018 at 11:14:12 PM

Well that escalated quickly

Tonight we've unlocked The Spellbook of Nature as well as the latest full cover Yawning Annihilation! Both are being worked on as I type this.

Birdseye Maple

This wood, like regular maple, is whitish to blonde. What makes it special is that it has tiny round burl features where sprouts started growing out of the tree.  These features resemble birds eyes which is where it gets its name.

Exhibiting at GameHole Con

If you're within driving distance of Madison, WI, you should clearly go to Gamehole Con this weekend where I'll be exhibiting.  I'll have Tomes on display with first cuttings of artwork.  I've also made a couple for the Con to put in its charity auction.  If you'd like a chance at getting one of these display models, I'll be raffling off them off on Sunday.  See you there!

 Butternut

The newest wood available is akin to walnut in grain and density but lighter in tone.   I've got some of this in the works that will be showable this weekend along with the mahogany.

The final week is upon us!

As we head into the final week of the campaign I'll be adding some additional stretch goals and add-ons.  So keep an eye out for those.

Have a Happy Halloween!
