TOME OF HOLDING: The hardwood dice box and rolling tray.

Created by Alexander Ingram

Intricate designs appear carved into the cover of this old tome. What mysteries might lie inside?

Hello, Backers!

Artwork for just about all the tomes up to around 250 is cut and awaiting assembly.

The past couple of weekends I've been resawing and drum sanding to build up dwindled stock of cover blanks.  I think I was running the drum sander for a good 20 hours this past weekend.

I've got 17 or so I hope to get flocked this week and mailed out early next week.

That's about all I've got.  Stay safe and sane out there.

Hello backers,

I hope this finds you all healthy and staying sane.

It's been a slow couple of months in the woodshop.  The furlough that my day job started didn't last very long and quickly ramped back into full time with everyone still working from home.  I'm working on dividing my time better but it's hard.   The groundhogs day scenario that is current life makes the days just fly by somehow.   I don't even know where this summer has gone.   I've turned off orders from the coaster website as I haven't been able to readily get to that stuff.

Here are a few pictures of some WIP:

Flocking drying.
On the way to final sanding.

Things are progressing, but it's plodding.   I'll be locking down more orders shortly so ensure that your addresses are correct if you've moved.

Also, I've been quite absent in my email and have a backlog to work through that I'm going to try to get to tonight.   So if you've emailed me at [email protected] and I didn't respond, I apologize.

Hello Backers!

I hope this finds you all doing well and staying sane with everything going on.  This whole thing has shown me that I'm pretty terrible at shifting gears between two jobs out of the same "office" meaning my house.  I'm working on creating more of a divide between the day job and the Tomes.   Things are still slowly getting done.

I'm currently in the midst of resawing more lumber for more covers and shaping spines to keep things rolling along.

I'm flocking 16 this weekend and should be shipping them out this coming week.  Still around just above 200 unfortunately.   There next 20 after that are getting glued up in the shop and should be hitting the finishing room later this week to ship out the week after, ideally.

I get a lot of emails and apologize if I didn't get back to you right away or lost track of yours.  Email me at [email protected] if I can answer anything for you.

Hello backers!

I hope your world is becoming a bit less like the twilight zone.

Things here in Wisconsin have loosened up and are slowly returning to a strange version of normal.  With the kid going back to daycare and my job furloughing a portion of my hours I'll be having time to get back into production.

I've got a pile that should be going out early next week and then getting back into a weekly groove.

As always, shoot me a message at alex@ingramwoodworking if you've got any questions.

Hello backers!

I hope that you and yours are doing well with the cabin fever we're all enduring.  The days are all smearing together and feel so much shorter somehow.

My wife and I are fortunate enough to have day jobs that we can do from home and haven't been affected that way too much.  Our preschool-aged daughter is home as well which has been a bittersweet wrinkle.  It's great spending so much time with her and doing schoolwork with her, but it's slowed the woodworking down considerably.   My wife needs to be on the clock so to speak during the day and I can work on my "day job" more during the evenings.  So that means I end up having to tackle the child more during the day and do the day job more in the evenings when I'd usually be doing a lot of shop work.

The machines are running during the day and I'll be locking down the next large batch of backers and getting artwork cut during the day but that was never the slow part.

With the stimulus coming out I'm hoping to hire a bit of help in the shop.

I'm fulfilling around 200 ish give or take at the moment and I feel like I've missed a couple messages in the pile of emails.  If that's the case shoot me another email at [email protected] and I'll do my best!

Stay healthy out there,

Alex
